Workflows, agents, governance, orchestration, and human-in-the-loop systems designed to make real work faster, safer, and more accountable.
This is Neue Alchemy’s design-build practice: The Firm.
Built for AI-native systems, ventures, and operating models that need to move from strategy to production.
We work across software, robotics, autonomy, and experience design – wherever intelligence has to survive contact with the field.
Not more decks. Not endless pilots. The work has to become real.
End-to-end partnership from strategy to deployment — so the work actually ships, runs, and delivers.
Decide where to invest.
Turn strategy into reality.
Make it run.
Build the muscle.
Start with a conversation. Tell us about your business, your goals, and the problems you want solved.
Let's talkPremature implementation is one of the most expensive ways to avoid a hard decision. We sharpen the decision first — then build the right part of the system.
Define the decision, the stakes, the operating context, and the path from judgment to execution.
Architect and ship the right system — venture, product, agent layer, operating model, or experience. Not a deck.
Put it into use – with customers, teams, workflows, and a commercial or operating model that holds.
Keep speed connected to judgment — decision rights, KPIs, and governance that absorb new technology.
See how these translate into measurable impact.

A simple, useful way to stay on top of what matters. Signal + Noise turns thousands of sources into clear, personalized briefings you can actually use — combining agentic research, editorial judgment, model tracking, quality checks, text-to-audio delivery, and reader feedback. The Highlight feature lets readers save what matters, build a living signal trail, and make future briefings more relevant. It is not just a newsletter. It is a working intelligence layer that collects, synthesizes, validates, personalizes, publishes, and improves.

A working lab for human-written, human-performable music in an AI-native industry. Every song starts with a person who can play it live; AI is used downstream for stems, harmonies, voice shaping, arrangement, mastering, and production acceleration. The first test is a licensed cover of Misfits’ “Halloween” — a controlled experiment in permission, provenance, distribution, and durable IP as music moves into the AI-native era.

A zero-touch commerce system built from scratch — brand, site, store, product, supply chain, fulfillment, and launch motion compressed from a 12-month build into a live operating venture, including marketing execution across content calendar planning, performance campaigns, social asset sourcing, and customer support operations.

Workflows, agents, governance, orchestration, and human-in-the-loop systems designed to make real work faster, safer, and more accountable.

Decision rights, KPIs, governance, adoption, and scale systems for teams moving from experimentation to repeatable capability.

Wedge to MVP to market — with strategy, brand, product, go-to-market, and operating system connected from the start.

A Signal + Noise breaking read on the 19-day government freeze that turned a frontier model into a governed runtime — and what it changes for anyone building on the frontier.

Cannes wasn't AI showing up in advertising. It was advertising being rebuilt as agentic media infrastructure — created, placed, negotiated, and transacted by agents — while the industry defended human creativity in the same breath.

Config wasn't about more AI. It was Figma trying to make the canvas the place where products are composed — motion, code, generative workflows, and agents as native materials on one shared surface.
Most firms advise or build. We do both — and we don’t walk away when the slides are done.
Advisory-first, because premature build is the expensive way to dodge a hard decision. Then we build the system, ship it, and stay accountable to the outcome in the wild.
Below is a snapshot of how we show up for most companies. Take the AI Maturity Assessment to locate where your organization sits – and what should happen next.

Take the AssessmentNeue Alchemy is led by builders who've shipped real products, scaled real systems, and operated inside the world's most demanding environments. We don't advise from the sidelines — we build alongside our partners.
Backed by the Alchemist Network — a curated bench of builders, researchers, operators, founders, and investors across healthcare, energy, fintech, mobility, entertainment, quantum, and more.
The core team stays close to the work. The Network expands the bench without turning the engagement into a handoff machine.
Isaiah Steinfeld is a repeat founder and executive leader specializing in corporate innovation, venture building, and platform strategy. With 20+ years of experience, he has led high-impact teams inside AWS, Nike, Intuit, and Lyft — creating billion-dollar value through disruptive products and new business models.

Maggie McGowan is a veteran design leader whose career bridges luxury fashion, creative systems, and emerging technology. As Executive-in-Residence at Neue Alchemy, she explores how AI, aesthetic intuition, and cultural memory shape the future of design.
Maggie spent nearly a decade at Michael Kors Collection, where she helped define the brand's high-fashion identity — leading everything from runway collections to VIP commissions and private clients, including a former First Lady. She was responsible for the brand's most exclusive line, overseeing seasonal concept development, fittings, and team leadership for NYFW.
In parallel, Maggie has emerged as a leading voice at the intersection of AI and design. She co-authored The Banner Test with 2nd Set AI, a widely discussed visual reasoning experiment examining whether generative models can accurately reconstruct historical fashion silhouettes. The work sparked conversation across fashion, tech, and design communities.
At Neue Alchemy, Maggie brings deep industry experience into dialogue with generative tools and next-generation creative workflows — working at the edge of fashion, technology, and cultural systems.

We don't sell AI concepts or recycled demos. We design and deploy systems grounded in your workflows, your data, and measurable outcomes.
Both. Advisory helps us define the bet before anyone starts building. We use it to identify the highest-leverage move, the risks to test first, and the evidence needed to proceed. When the case is strong, we build — systems, agents, ventures, operating models, and transformation programs.
Founders, SMBs, mid-market companies, enterprises up to the Fortune 100, nonprofits, public-sector teams, and investors. The common factor is not size. It is a moment where the old playbook is no longer enough, and the next move requires cross-domain judgment and execution.
Yes. Neue Alchemy is based in Portland, with presence across LA, SF, NYC, and Tokyo, and a global working model. The team has built and scaled inside Fortune 10 environments, and has also launched startups from zero to one to scale.
Neue Alchemy is intentionally small at the core and expansive by design. The senior team stays close to the work, then brings in specialized builders, operators, researchers, designers, and partners from the Alchemist Network based on what the mandate actually requires.
Usually with an advisory retainer, diagnostic, AI audit, strategy sprint, workshop, or executive offsite — shaped around the decision, the mandate, and the stakes. The point is to create clarity before a team spends serious money, political capital, or build time.
As infrastructure, not novelty. We are model-neutral and operating-model aware. The work is deciding what should become faster, what should stay human, and where approval, trust, risk, and accountability are required. AI only matters when it changes how real work gets done.
We are a poor fit for commodity staff augmentation, low-cost outsourcing, traditional ad or PR retainers, and template-only branding. We do take on fractional leadership, embedded build roles, and brand systems when they are connected to a larger strategic, product, venture, or operating mandate.
Share the decision you're facing and we'll come back with a clear, no-theater read on the highest-leverage next move.
